Some time ago, I wrote a post titled "F*ck 'everything happens for a reason'" to remind us that even if we understand why certain events happen to us or what lies behind them, this awareness shouldn't turn into denial or rejection of the emotions we feel.
Today, I wanted to share some reflections I've had recently.
Yes, I know why I chose to experience certain traumas in this life and why they are, in fact, gifts. That doesn't mean I don't carry memories of suffering, anger, sadness, and that parts of me don't feel confusion, rage, incomprehension, etc.
I embrace myself as a soul having experiences AND as a human who struggles through them and feels anger or sadness.
I acknowledge my emotions, feel them, live them, accept them AND look for what lies behind the experience, the gem, the gift, the reason.
The union of both.
The beauty of both.
The yin and the yang.
🌸 One thing and its opposite can coexist within us.
💠💠 It is the acceptance and embracing of both polarities that allow us to find peace at the center.
We are full of facets.
And we can only find peace by welcoming each of these facets.
Do you sometimes feel these contradictions within you? These paradoxes?
There’s no need to struggle or choose.
The mind doesn’t like that, does it?
🤍🖤 We are everything and its opposite.
I have infinite love for the Earth and humanity, and at the same time, parts of me hate this Earth and would want to kill humans for the horrors they are capable of.
🖤🤍 I am both light and dark.
🔥 And my strength lies in exploring and embracing both polarities.
No matter the beautiful things modern, somewhat disembodied spirituality tells us, we cannot rise and become more luminous without being willing to dive into our depths and darkness.
A tree is as strong and tall as its roots are deep and healthy. What would happen if it only wanted to feel the air and not the earth?
